Job Description

Position Title: Supervisor, Quality

Reports to:     Manager, Technical Processes

Location:        Sandy Springs, GA  

 

POSITION SCOPE:  

This position performs a wide variety of duties required to control, manage, and distribute engineering data. Responsible to administer the Quality system and ISO compliance and drive continuous improvements initiatives. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Administer site quality program for the Product Development Center (PDC) and compliance efforts as directed by Manager, Technical Processes.
    • Coordinate continual improvements and corrective actions i.e. Quality Service Notifications to ensure they are recorded and reviewed.
    • Champion lean initiatives and conduct monthly continuous improvement meetings.
    • Conduct monthly engineering standards meetings and leads to improvement projects; take an active role in the standardization.
    • Aligns engineering processes, procedures and standards to ensure all matters are followed.
    • Conduct monthly European Machinery status meetings and documents notes from meeting to include: new orders, machine commissioning and quality resolution.
    • Support and audit outsourcing assembly process.
    • Audit/Maintain engineering files as required to ensure compliance with ISO certification. Process Engineering Change Requests, including weekly and monthly reporting.
    • Create and manage electronic copies of ISO required documentation. Update procedures and work instructions as required.
    • Provides back up support to Business Analyst for process monitoring and data correction in the engineering database.
    • Maintain quality training records for employees in the PDC.
    • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Must be well versed in ISO-9000 quality systems.
  • ISO Lead Auditor Certification a plus.
  • Must be able to work well in a diverse environment, be able to interface effectively with various groups.
  • Detail and accuracy oriented.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate good proactive communication skills and timely execution of actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn new applications.

 Desired Background:

Education

  • Post-secondary Business Degree or equivalent experience; preferably in Business Administration or Engineering

Experience

  • Prior experience in a related Quality assurance position.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.

Technical

  • Experience with a computerized integrated manufacturing system (ERP/MRP) is required. Specific experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Familiar with a Product Data Management system. Specific experience with SmarTeam is a plus.
  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is completed in an assembly environment; high speed equipment, forklift equipment, robotic systems as well as in an office setting.
  • Frequent exposure to noise; hearing protection is provided.
  • Frequent standing and walking on concrete surface.
  • Frequent work completed while sitting at a desk using a computer.
  • Occasional squatting, bending and twisting.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling.
  • Occasional lifting to 25 lbs.
